haha doris very sorry to tell u that i also dont know how to prevent it...but mine was eaten up almost half of it...breaks my heart manz...lucky now after a few months had alrdy grown back to its original state...hmmm but i find that it seldom flowers nowadays...and i think the best method is like wad darren yeo said last time...search and destroy...haha...but its scary if u had seen the photo i posted on the grasshopper...such big and disgusting lol!

this is a pupping machine!!! omg i found out that i have 2 more additional pups which makes a total of 7pups that it has produced now!!! amazing isnt it?! but sad to say that 1 pup has gone missing and another 1 was shattered last time by my careless handling...so i left with 5pups growing now!

i can say from all my airplants this is the most hardy plant of all which u dun need much care..it can withstand even 2full days without watering. i place all my airplants at my corridor. they are always under direct strong sunlight...even the afternoon piercing sunlight is also shining on them but still usneoides shows no signs of dehydration on my side. i use the quick dip method to water this plant. it gives it all the moisture it needs as it dries up fast too after taking in enough water so it doesnt rot. As for how big it grows. i can say that it is a fast grower which can grow new shoots out of everywhere very easily n fast and in a wide range of conditions too. i bought a medium size clump usneoides(thick type) from brian at the sentosa stall. in 2 months the usneoides grow so much new shoots till it became quite a thick clump and growing longer than my corridor side wall! but unfortunately there is this pest cricket or grasshopper thingy that came and eaten up half of my usneoi..

i agree that this looks much like the fukiana but it is in fact much smaller than it...looks nice n cute hope it will grow bigger soon...

i think i might have one of these...can it be grown in the soil??? does anyone have it? mine is sitting in a small pot of soil...i water it everyday and it seems fine...i wonder if it is a real airplant or issit that mine is not this airplant at all!?
