I would say this is an everblooming tillandsia, when grown in the right conditions (dapple of sunlight, regular heavy misting & hung upside down). Maybe due to the fact that it is made up of many mallemontiis. My Mallemontiis has been blooming purplish bluish fragrant suprises for me after I bought it. It has developed lots of pods & I am trying my luck to sow them. It loves moisture & good air circulation. Even though it is made up of many plants, I tried seperating some to see which/how the plant blooms. The verdict: They take turns to bloom given the right conditions. I get comments from friends like why are u hanging this ball of grass/weeds, shldn't u be discarding them. When they saw the purplish blooms with the subtle fragrance, they were astounded.
Mallemontii: Do not be deceived by my fuzzy look! I have plenty of surprises in store!
