I would say this is an everblooming tillandsia, when grown in the right conditions (dapple of sunlight, regular heavy misting & hung upside down). Maybe due to the fact that it is made up of many mallemontiis. My Mallemontiis has been blooming purplish bluish fragrant suprises for me after I bought it. It has developed lots of pods & I am trying my luck to sow them. It loves moisture & good air circulation. Even though it is made up of many plants, I tried seperating some to see which/how the plant blooms. The verdict: They take turns to bloom given the right conditions. I get comments from friends like why are u hanging this ball of grass/weeds, shldn't u be discarding them. When they saw the purplish blooms with the subtle fragrance, they were astounded. Mallemontii: Do not be deceived by my fuzzy look! I have plenty of surprises in store!

Got this plant for about a week or so. My plant was not well taken care of (did not get it from Xiao Yun and Brian, thats why+ they had ran out of stock if not I would have gotten it from them) and there were some parts of the clump which had sadly dried up, including a lot of leaves being brown and lifeless. But under my care the entire clump is looking better now, and there are some seedlings which have germinated due to my misting the clump, their little green selves peeking out from their seed. A very interesting clump of plants, and the blooms are fragrant, a major plus factor (to me) thats why I had to get it. In addition I got a few bonus tiny little plants (I assume its mallemontii - as mine had flowered), the largest of which is about 1 1/2 cm or so. There are a few seedpods, one or 2, which survived the lack of care. I place the mallemontii clump on my windowsill where they get morning sun, and I mist them twice a day, guess its not too good to get it soaked in water, [...]
